Marie Chilemme

Marie Chilemme was born in Toulouse (France) in 1988. She began her studies of the viola at the age of three. In 2005, she entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (CNSM) of Paris in the class of Jean Sulem.
From 2008 to 2013, she was selected for The Academy Ozawa in Switzerland (IMAS) where she worked and studied under the guidance of Pamela Franck, Robert Mann, Sadao Arada, Nobuko Imai and Seiji Ozawa.
In 2010, she graduated with highest honors from the CNSM of Paris with a Master’s degree. Marie then entered the class of Tabea Zimmermann in the Hochschule Hanns Eisler of Berlin while attending the string quartet class of the Artemis Quartet.
In 2012, she and her brother created the Quatuor Cavatine, winning the prestigious International Competition of Chamber music of Hamburg (ICMC) and the Second Grand Prix in the International Competition of String quartet in Banff, Canada (Bisqc).
Marie became a resident of the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels and a student in the Viola Class of Miguel Da Silva.
In October 2017, she joined the Quatuor EBÈNE. In 2019 they collaborated in a recording of the complete Beethoven String Quartets. This recording has received critical acclaim worldwide.
