WALTER WITTE

lawyer - artist - founder

The estate of the Frankfurt lawyer Walter Witte includes an extensive collection of his graphic works created in the 25 years before his Viola Foundation was founded. With a small, representative selection from the wealth of over 2000 drawings and prints, the exhibition will provide insights into the imaginative worlds of the artist Walter Witte.

For Witte, who had, in addition to his work as a business attorney, campaigned for many years with great commitment for the rights of the survivors of the Shoah, art was always an indispensable source of vitality.

The exhibition presents the politically committed lawyer not only as a draftsman and graphic artist, but also as an architect, actor, and poet.
