Jaeyun Han (15)

Born in 2010, violist Jaeyun Han began playing the viola at age 10 and quickly gained recognition for his exceptional musical talent. He won 2nd Prize (no 1st Prize awarded) at the Sungjung Competition in 2020 and 1st Prize at the Ewha-Kyunghyang Competition in 2021.

He was selected for the PyeongChang Music Festival Masterclass in 2022 and appeared as a chamber musician at the House Concert July Festival in 2023. In 2024, he participated in Kronberg Academy’s Mit Musik – Miteinander program and attended the Morningside Music Bridge at the New England Conservatory in Boston with a full scholarship. He also made his orchestral debut the same year with the Wonju Philharmonic Orchestra as a soloist in the Young Artist Concert.
In 2025, he entered the Korea National University of Arts as the youngest student in its history and currently studies under Professor Sohee Yoon. He is a Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation arts scholar and is actively engaged in various artistic activities.

That year, he won 2nd Prize and the Best Performance of the Kathy Tagg Commission at the Cecil Aronowitz International Viola Competition. He was also featured as a soloist in the LC Rising Star Series in January 2025.

Han has participated in masterclasses with renowned violists including Amihai Grosz ,Kim Kashkashian, Shinyun Hwang, Robert Diaz, Atar Arad, Sào Soulez Larivière, Walter Küssner, Hung-Wei Huang, and Sara Kim. From 2021 to 2024, he studied at the Korea National Institute for Gifted Arts, where he was mentored by Professors Soonhwa Oh and Hanna Lee
