Olivier Carillier (27)
Born in France in 1994, Olivier Carillier started studying violin with Nina Likht in Toulouse at the age of 5. After graduating in 2011, he entered in the Hochschule für Musik in Basel, where he achieved his Bachelor in 2015 and Master in violin in 2017 with Raphaël Oleg. He started studying viola in the class of Silvia Simionescu and obtained his Master in viola in 2020.
He played as academist in the Kammerorchester Basel from 2019 to 2020, and is currently co-solo of St-Gallen Sinfonieorchester. He will play as soloist with the Collegium Basel in september 2021 for the Schlusskonzert of the Hochschule für Musik Basel.
Laureate of numerous competitions for solo and chamber music in France, Italy, Hungary, Poland, and Switzerland, Olivier won the first prize of the « Marianne und Curt Dienemaann Stiftung » competition (Luzern, 2019), was laureate of the « Rahn Kulturfonds » (Zürich, 2019 and 2020), and was finalist of the « Thomas Kuti competition » organized by the Lions Club in Paris. He played at various festivals with renowned artists such as the Gringolts Quartet and the Doric Quartet, and was invited to play at the festival Mendelssohn in Mull (Scotland,2019) by the Doric Quartet.
