Oscar Edin (26)

Oscar Edin was born in 1995 and grew up on an island in the southern archipelago of Gothenburg, Sweden. Oscar started playing the violin at the age of 4, and in his teenage years his passion for music grew. He gained his first orchestra experience in the regional youth orchestra, and later started his own to-be sucessful string orchestra, Skallsjö Sommarorchester, with young talented musicians in Sweden.

Oscar studied his bachelor degree with Tobias Granmo in Gothenburg, then continued with master studies in Stockholm with Jannica Gustavsson. In the spring of 2020, Oscar got accepted to the diploma education at the Malmö Music College - a soloist master program, in which only a couple of instrumentalists get accepted each year. In Malmö he will study with prof. Henrik Frendin.

Oscar is an avid chamber musician, and plays regularly in festivals in Sweden. Oscar has also toured with different chamber music groups in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Italy and Germany.
