Yumi Sekiya

The Japanese pianist Yumi Sekiya studied at the State University for Art and Music in Tokyo and then completed a master class study at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München with Prof. Klaus Schilde. Master classes with Rudolf Buchbinder rounded off her training.

Since 1992 she has been a lecturer at the Munich University of Music and Drama and is the official piano accompanist at internationally renowned music competitions (ARD Music Competition Munich, International Instrumental Competition Markneukirchen, Tokyo International Viola Competition) as well as at international master classes in Europe and Japan.

As a sought-after chamber music partner she has given numerous concerts in many cities in Europe and Japan.
