Yunqing Cao (26)

Yunqing Cao was born in China in 1999. In 2013, she was admitted to the High School Affiliated to the China Conservatory of Music (CCoM), where she studied with Professor Bai Ming. In 2017, she continued her studies at the China Conservatory of Music.

In July 2019, she was invited to participate in the opening ceremony of the Salzburg Festival in Austria. As a member of the Kunlun Quartet, she won numerous awards, including the grand prize in the chamber music category of the international online competition “Grand Prix Crown of Stars.”

In October 2022, she began her master’s degree in Viola Solo at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln under Professor Peijun Xu. Since 2024, she has continued her master’s studies at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold.

In May 2023, she was accepted into the academy of the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne. In December of the same year, she became a member of the Deutschen Jugendphilharmonie.

In 2024, she was selected for the Villa Musica sponsorship program and was also chosen as a member of the Zermatt Festival. For 2025, she has been accepted into the Lucerne Festival Academy.
