Soyono Eguro

Pianist Soyono Eguro was born in Tokyo, Japan, in 1996 and began playing the piano at the age of five. From 2014 to 2018, she studied at the Toho-Gakuen College of Music in Tokyo with Prof. Nobuhito Nakai and Prof. Ryoji Ariyoshi. She then completed her master's degree in piano solo with Prof. Andreas Frölich and in chamber music with Prof. Anthony Spiri and Robert Kulek at the Cologne University of Music and Dance.

She has won numerous international piano competitions. Among other things, she won third prize at the 12th Medenus Piano Festival (Rösrath, 2019) and first prize at the 1st International Amadeus Piano Competition“ (Italy, 2019), 1st prize and the special prize for the best interpretation of a Romantic work at the 8th International Competition ”Citta di Penne“ (Italy, 2019), and 2nd prize at the ”Concours Européen de Piano" (France, 2021).

She has given and continues to give concerts and has participated in various festivals. These include the 100th chamber music concert of the Toho-Gakuen College of Music at Suntory Hall (Tokyo, Japan, 2018), the “Claviernacht” at the Büchel Museum (Aachen, 2019), the Orpheo concert series 2020 at the Theater Kerkrade (Kerkrade, Netherlands, 2020), the Master Orchestra Festival 2021 (Brescia, Italy, 2021), the chamber music concert at Namedy Castle (Andernach, 2021), at the PASSAGEN art festival (Menden, 2022), at the Form AntoniterMusik concert at the Citykirchenzentrum (Cologne, 2023), and at the PhilharmonieLunch at the Cologne Philharmonic Hall (Cologne, 2023).
